Selvam is a Partner of the firm.
He was an ASEAN scholar who was educated in St. Paul’s Institution, Malaysia and Raffles Institution, Singapore. He later read law in the National University of Singapore.
His practice straddles both litigious as well as non-contentious matters.
Selvam is an experienced litigator and has represented personal and institutional clients in complex litigation in the Singapore courts, in SIAC and ICC arbitrations as well as in mediation proceedings.
He acts for many of the largest commercial and industrial landlords in Singapore and advises them on a variety of matters. His practice in this area includes documentation for leases, advising clients on landlord and tenant as well as land law issues, and acting for clients in complex litigation involving land law and landlord and tenant law. .
Selvam also has wide ranging experience in banking and commercial disputes, construction disputes, employment law issues, insurance matters and real estate claims. He also regularly advises and acts for Malaysian law firms concerning the registration and enforcement of Malaysian judgments in Singapore.
He is also well versed in the drafting of commercial contracts, employment contacts, sale and purchase of shares and other estate planning instruments, such as wills.
